Before completing these steps, log in to your Newton account. You can create one here if you do not already have a Newton account.
How to deposit an e-Transfer with 'Request via app' on web:
1. Navigate to the Add Funds funding drawer at the top right of your Newton dashboard.
2. Select Via Interac e-Transfer.
3. Input the amount of CAD you would like to deposit into your Newton account.
4. Confirm your Interac e-Transfer by selecting Send 'Request via app'.
How to deposit with e-Transfer with 'Request via app' on your mobile device:
1. Navigate to the Transfer icon located in the bottom navigation bar of your Newton app.
2. Select Add Funds, followed by Via Interac e-Transfer.
3. Input the amount of CAD you would like to deposit into your Newton account.
4. Confirm your Interac e-Transfer by selecting Send 'Request via app'.
Keep in mind that we've visually updated the 'Request via app' e-Transfer deposit method on Newton to comply with our payment provider’s requirements, and most importantly - to ensure it remains free for you!
The new request email now shows you as the money requester, but with Newton's email (pay@newton.co), and your funds will still be deposited into your Newton account as before.
Once the e-Transfer has been successfully deposited into your Newton account, the confirmation email will contain additional information, including the name of one of our payment vendors, People’s Trust. Your funds have now landed in your Newton account.
Note: some banks do not support 'Request via app'. If your bank does not support this method, you can instead fund your account via 'Transfer from bank', if this method is available to you.
