What are Newton’s Fees?
This page summarizes all fees charged by and paid to Newton.
Transaction Charges
Trading Fees: These fees apply to both buy and sell orders and are derived from the spread, which is the difference between the buy and sell price of the asset. The fee rate varies by crypto asset and is displayed while you complete a trade.
- Tier 1 Assets (1.00% - 1.15%):
- Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USD Coin (USDC)
- Tier 2 Assets (1.25% - 1.45%):
- Litecoin (LTC), Solana (SOL), Stellar Lumens (XLM)
- Tier 3 Assets (1.50% - 1.60%):
- All other crypto assets have a standard fee rate in this range.
Crypto Fees
BTC and Ethereum Network Crypto assets - Withdrawal Speed Lanes
When withdrawing BTC or any coin on the Ethereum Network, you can choose from three speeds, letting you decide on timing and cost:
- Fast Lane: Processed within 20 minutes; $10 CAD + network fee
- Standard Lane: Processed within 2 hours; network fee only
- Free Lane: Processed nightly, with Newton covering the network fee
For All Other Crypto assets:
For all other crypto deposits and withdrawals, Newton doesn’t charge a fee. To make transactions even more affordable, Newton covers the first $5 of network fees for one withdrawal each day, helping you keep more of your crypto.
Newton Withdrawal Subsidy:
- For the first daily withdrawal, Newton covers up to $5 of network fees (midnight to midnight ET).
- For additional withdrawals, or if network fees exceed $5, the estimated network fee is confirmed prior to withdrawal.
Fiat Fees
- Interac E-Transfer: Free for both deposits and withdrawals.
- EFT Withdrawals: Free.
- Wire Transfer: Free for $10,000+ transfers; a $35 fee applies for amounts between $5,000-$10,000.

Staking Fees
Newton charges a fee on staking rewards. This fee is deducted prior to any staking rewards being distributed to your account, if applicable.
- Ethereum (ETH): Newton Fee 15%
- Solana (SOL): Newton Fee 7% + 100% of MEV Rewards
