What the referral program is

Newton’s referral program lets eligible Newton users invite friends to join the platform. When your friend signs up using your referral link and completes the required trading activity, they can receive a $20 CAD Welcome Bonus, and you can earn a referral reward based on your platform activity.

Who can participate?

To participate as an Eligible Referrer, you must have a fully verified Newton account and have completed at least $100 CAD in cumulative trading volume on the platform.

You can find your unique referral link in your Newton account.

What does my friend get?

Your friend will receive a fixed $20 CAD Welcome Bonus when they:

1. Sign up for Newton using your unique referral link.
2. Complete account verification.
3. Trade at least $100 CAD within 90 days of account verification.

The $100 CAD trading requirement can be completed through one trade or multiple smaller trades, as long as the total trading volume reaches at least $100 CAD within the 90-day window.

Each friend that you refer can only receive one Welcome Bonus.

What do I get as the referrer?

As the referrer, you can earn a referral reward when your friend completes the referral requirements.

Your referral reward amount is based on your 365-day Average Monthly Trade Volume at the exact time your friend completes their $100 CAD trading requirement.

Your current referral reward amount may change over time because your 365-day Average Monthly Trade Volume is calculated on a rolling basis. As older trading days fall outside the 365-day window and new trading activity is added, your referral reward amount may increase or decrease.

Your reward is determined at the exact time your friend completes their $100 CAD trading requirement. Rewards are not retroactively adjusted based on later changes to your trading volume.

How do I refer a friend?

1. Open your Newton account.
2. Go to your referral page.
3. Copy and share your unique referral link with a friend.
4. Your friend signs up, verifies their account, and trades at least $100 CAD within 90 days of account verification.
5. Once the referral requirements are met and verified, rewards are credited to both accounts.

What are Signature referrals?

If you are a Diamond or Platinum member in Newton’s Signature Program, your referred friend may also receive temporary access to Signature status that will give them access to lower trading fees after completing the referral requirements for a short period of time.

This temporary Signature access lasts for 14 days and allows your friend to experience lower trading fees through Signature.

When are referral rewards paid?

Referral rewards are credited shortly after your friend has completed the $100 CAD trading requirement within the 90-day window.

Rewards may be delayed, capped, denied, or disqualified if activity appears fraudulent, suspicious, or not in line with the referral program rules.

Why did my referral reward amount change?

Your referral reward amount is based on your 365-day Average Monthly Trade Volume, which is calculated on a rolling basis. This means your amount can change as older trading activity drops out of the 365-day window and new trading activity is added.

The reward amount available on your account at the exact time your friend completes their $100 CAD trading requirement is the amount used to calculate your payout.

Can my friend still get their $20 CAD Welcome Bonus if my reward is delayed or under review?

In most cases, your friend’s $20 CAD Welcome Bonus is separate from your referral reward. Your friend’s bonus is fixed and does not change based on your referral reward amount.

However, all referral rewards and Welcome Bonuses are subject to verification and the full Referral Program Terms and Conditions. You can contact our support team at support@newton.co if you have questions about the status of your referral reward.

Important notes

Newton may modify, suspend, or terminate the referral program, reward amounts, eligibility criteria, or any other part of the program at any time.

Promotional rewards may carry tax implications. You are responsible for any tax reporting or liabilities associated with promotional payouts on your account.

In the Referral Program Terms and Conditions, your referral reward may be referred to as the “Referrer Reward,” and your friend’s Welcome Bonus may be referred to as the “Friend Reward.”
