In the event of your passing, the executor of your estate or your appointed Trustee will have to provide us with several documents such as your death certificate and will. The executor will need to provide proof of their role in addition to a government-issued photo ID. Other documents may also be required. While we do not have any formal way of naming a beneficiary, we do have a process for handling cases where the account holder passes.
How to contact us
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
- Subject: “Full Name of Deceased Account” Estate
- In the body of the email, please include the email address associated with the deceased’s account in addition to supporting documentation such as the Death Certificate and Probated Will.
Please note that the required documentation and processes may differ depending on your province/territory and individual situation. If we need additional information, we will request it via email.
Can I add a beneficiary to my Newton account?
Newton currently does not support naming a beneficiary for personal or corporate accounts. Any assets in your Newton account will be transferred according to your estate planning documents or according to Provincial/Territorial laws.
