Effective September 12, 2025, Bancor (BNT), Band Protocol (BAND), and Chromia (CHR) will no longer be listed on Newton. Support for affected assets will be phased out beginning September 5, 2025, completing with liquidation of remaining tokens on September 12, 2025. Read on for more information.
Why is this happening?
In late August 2025, our service providers informed us that they would be discontinuing support for BNT, BAND, and CHR. As a result, we’ve made the difficult decision to phase out these assets.
We understand that this may be disappointing for some users. Please know that we carefully consider these decisions and explored all possible alternatives to maintain support for the affected tokens before reaching this conclusion.
What do you need to know?
BNT, BAND, and CHR will be delisted soon. Key dates are as follows:
September 5, 2025: Buys will be disabled. Deposits will be disabled. Buy and sell limit orders will be disabled.
September 11, 2025: Sells will be disabled. Withdrawals will be disabled.
September 12, 2025: Any remaining BNT, BAND, and CHR will be liquidated. Any withdrawals must be made before September 12, 2025.
If you currently hold BNT, BAND, or CHR you will be able to withdraw your holdings until September 11, 2025, 11:59 PM EDT. Holdings of these assets left on the Newton platform after 11:59 PM EDT on September 11, 2025, will be liquidated on your behalf at the current market value. The CAD proceeds from the sale(s) will be deposited into your Newton account once complete.
To avoid liquidation (automatic sell-off at market rate) of your assets, we encourage you to be proactive and withdraw your BNT, BAND, or CHR before September 12, 2025.
Note: Beginning September 5, 2025, deposits of BNT, BAND, or CHR sent to your Newton account cannot be recovered. Please refrain from funding your account with the above-listed assets, and ensure to remove them Newton wallet addresses from any address book entries you may have saved to prevent unintended transactions.
